NU-CAST / BRUSH WELLMAN JOINT DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Nu-Cast, Inc. and Brush Wellman, Inc. announced today that they have signed a
Development Agreement that, through research and development phases, and due diligence will lead to the establishment of a joint venture to manufacture investment castings of aluminum beryllium alloys. Terms were not disclosed.Nu-Cast Inc., headquartered in Londonderry, NH, was founded in 1985. Nu-Cast is recognized as a leader in the manufacture of complex aluminum investment castings. Specializing in large light weight structures, they feature components for electronic, optical, telecommunications, and aerospace projects worldwide. Nu-Cast also provides hardware for the NASA agencies and defense and military contractors. Rapid Prototyping and fast track castings are a mainstay of its ISO/AS9100 business. Nu-Cast has developed specialty ceramic formulations that will support beryllium – aluminum product applications for the worldwide market. Brush Wellman Inc., headquartered in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Brush Engineered Materials Inc. and is the leading fully integrated manufacturer of beryllium and beryllium- containing materials worldwide.
