NU-CAST SETS NEW CASTING SIZE RECORD

Nu-Cast, Inc., 29 Grenier Field Road, Londonderry, NH., Recently cast the largest aluminum investment casting in it’s history. The application, called an optical bench, is for a major Aerospace Original Equipment Manufacturer. It will be used to mount optical mirrors and the associated electronics. The aluminum investment casting weighs in at approximately 120 lbs., an new internal record for Nu-Cast, and measures 24” X 36” X 59”. This is the latest example of new programs in the area of Aerospace and Defense that Nu-Cast is expanding it’s involvement with. Nu-Cast is developing a full second shift capability to meet customer requirements in this area. Per the Vice President of Manufacturing an additional 20 employees such as Inspectors and X-Ray Technicians and personnel for other foundry areas will be required to fill the company’s needs.
