Nu-Cast, Inc Terms & Conditions

General Conditions:

All Nu-Cast quotes are valid for 30 days, unless otherwise noted.


Payment Terms:

Castings: Net 15 days from date of invoice.

Tooling: Net 10 days from date of invoice. photographs of tool and wax patterns will be available upon request. progress payments for tooling may be requested. fifty percent (50%) payable upon acceptance of order. balance due upon first article approval

Finance charge: 1 1/2 % per month (annual percentage rate 18%) will be charged to accounts over thirty (30) days from invoice date.

Additional Provisions:

  1. Prices may be subject to an upward adjustment based on raw material prices as of the date of shipment, if same occurs 120 days after receipt of order.
  2. Normal shipping allowance is + 5% of order quantity and up to 30 day advance shipments
  3. Unless otherwise agreed to, all delivery commitments start from the time we receive an acceptable formal written purchase order.

Tooling Disclaimer (itar):

Nu-Cast may engage the services of registered and certified canadian toolmakers in the fabrication of the wax pattern tool and fixtures. defense articles and technical data will be used only by certified canadian companies to construct subject tooling and will be returned for end use in the united states.


For Castings From Sla Patterns:

  1. Customer to supply acceptable pattern. if sla, minimum 70% voids, all drain holes to be plugged and the unit pressure tested.
  2. Customer to supply acceptable stl/iges cad file.
  3. Unless otherwise negotiated, all walls to be .060 minimum. (sla)
  4. All rapid prototype casting quality and dimensional issues are on a best effort basis.
  5. We Will Supply:
    1. Overall dimensional results, height, length, width.
    2. Foundry control, x-ray, penetrant, results only.
    3. Chemical analysis and mechanical properties, regardless of the results.
    4. A certificate of conformance is not applicable.
    5. X-ray requirements beyond foundry control results will be priced separately.
  6. Dimensional lay-out, x-ray, and other reports are not included in this proposal for rapid prototype castings. if required, they must be priced separately before we start your order. all separately cast test bars required by customer will be invoiced at $50.00 ea.
  7. Since time is of the essence, unless otherwise negotiated prior to order placement, this quotation is the final criteria for all contract and quality issues.
  8. Welding of prototype castings by N.C.I. personnel before heat treat is permissible.
  9. Casting surface finish to be product of pattern.
  10. This quotation is subject to change and is conditional pending a complete review of your purchase order terms and conditions including quality requirements. our contracts administration personnel will review/approve your final formal purchase order and finalized/released drawing requirements prior to acceptance of any order.
  11. When there is a requirement for more than one sample, they will be processed at customer risk.
  12. All rapid prototype pricing is based on per attempt basis, and failed attempts will be invoiced at the full unit price.
  13. Customer is responsible for all shipping costs, including the cost from the rapid prototype provider.
  14. The basis for the above unit pricing for x-ray inspection of castings in a class 2 or class 3 category, the lot quantity shall be defined per ams 2175 as that number of castings that are prepared for shipment at one time, regardless of individual material specification for lot size determination.
  15. Liquid penetrant inspection will be in accordance with ASTM E 1417, paragraph 7.1.4 grit blasting (without etching) using 80/150 particles.
  16. Please provide referenced process standards and specifications at the appropriate revision levels with your purchase order for our review.
  17. Radiographic technique acceptance criteria to be determined at time of order placement.

For Castings From Tooling:

  1. This quotation is subject to change and is conditional pending a complete review of your purchase order terms and conditions, including quality requirements. our contracts administration personnel will review/approve your final formal purchase order and finalized/released drawing requirements’ prior to acceptance of any order. quotation is valid for 30 days.
  2. Requests for certification documentation not specifically required by your rfq to be invoiced separately.
  3. Unless otherwise agreed to, all delivery commitments start from the time we receive the formal written purchase order
  4. Standard nci casting tolerances to apply.
  5. Cast surface finish to be 125 rms.
  6. Prior to commencing production, we will require written first article approval
  7. Additional inspection criteria beyond foundry control and the initial first article lay-out will be priced separately
  8. Separately cast test bars will be used to determine the mechanical properties unless otherwise negotiated in writing.
  9. Prices based on customer permission to weld repair by n.c.i. personnel, if necessary prior to heat treat.
  10. Prior approval with authorization (rma) number is required to return castings for any reason. contact our q.c. department for instructions.
  11. Castings processed by our customer beyond nci as shipped condition are not returnable.
  12. Reordered castings processed from established tooling will be on a same as previously supplied basis.
  13. Tool return policy: we consider the gating and injection systems to be proprietary and must be removed prior to returning any tooling. all costs associated with this release, as well as any outstanding accounts receivable must be paid for in full in advance of it being shipped. costs and schedule to be negotiated.

  19. Customer quality source inspection/surveillance audits (if required) will be priced as a separate, stand alone line item, and will be priced depending on the inspection criteria once determined. minimum rate: $1,500.00/person/day.
  20. Tools transferred outside of Nu-Cast facilities will be subject to a recalibration charge upon their return.
